Laura Prosser

Retired Judge Laura Prosser received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in Psychology and Educational Research and a Master's degree in Counseling, then received her Juris Doctorate from the LSU Law School.

Following law school, Judge Prosser opened the first Mediation/Arbitration practice in Baton Rouge and served as an adjunct professor of Civil and Family Law Mediation at LSU Law School for 20 years. Judge Prosser was elected to the Baton Rouge City Court bench in 2000 and served for 18 years. Judge Prosser also began and presided over the first specialized domestic violence court in Louisiana.
